All the things that made Christmas special are gone: the human connection, the baubles passed down through generations, even the rubbish cracker jokes. His first television appearance came in a bit-part on one episode of the showbiz satire, Filthy, Rich and Catflap.

This fast-paced, fun, feel-good story is great to read in groups and reminds us of all the things that make Christmas festive and memorable. Follow young boy Kûn on a journey of the imagination through history and evolution as he pictures what life was like when dinosaurs lived, what the world was like when the moon was formed and how that event connects him to Solveig, a girl living on the other side of the planet.

In some ways, our children are used to Christmas being virtual with travel restrictions meaning a lot of family get-togethers are being done online, and as a consequence, a lot of the long-held traditions and rituals have been let go. His children’s books have sold more than a million copies in the UK alone, and his debut, The Parent Agency, won the Laugh Out Loud Book Award. This interactive book is cleverly constructed and highly engaging – using stickers, rewards, cracking illustrations, and a dialogue-driven storyline.Steven Lenton has been the winner of the Waterstones Picture Book of the Month and the Times Children’s Book of the Week. He is the author of three previous novels for adults, but The Parent Agency is his first book for children. Racing against time and against the might of Winterzone, they must find the real Santa - before the true meaning of the festive season is lost forever . I enjoyed how simple yet unique this story was and it is a lovely festive read that I know my children will thoroughly enjoy now that I've finished borrowing their book.

A good point about consumerism is made through another Baddiel madcap adventure, with likeable characters and a very easy-to-imagine Christmas scenario. The HILARIOUS new novel and the year's most perfect festive gift - from million-copy bestselling author David Baddiel It used to be the most WONDERFUL time of the year, but for years Christmas has been taken over by Winterzone. This is an entertaining story in itself, but with the capacity to encourage some great what-if thinking. They enlist the help of some strange and interesting allies to save the world and rescue Stella in this highly imaginative and fast-paced part-illustrated adventure suitable for children aged 9-12.One thing I would say is that it’s more suited to older children due to there being a few chapters focused on the corporate/commercial world which younger readers/listeners may find boring. Even though her Dad works for WinterZone and has got her the role of the 'Perfect Present Please' kid this year! Steven Lenton has been the winner of the Waterstones Picture Book of the Month and The Times Children’s Book of the Week.
