Description

If you are printing objects that are primarily for decorative purposes, you can print with an infill of 5-10%.

Brims and rafts print an area of filament on the outside or under the print object. This increases the surface and adhesion. However, these two options are only necessary for extreme cases and have the disadvantage that you have to remove this auxiliary construction from the print object after printing. On the bottom front of the machine, the USB and TF Card slots let you comfortably connect the device to an external computer as well as independently operate it via a TF card. The printer settings and the printing status can be controlled via a 45°-tilted LCD screen. The Sprite direct drive extruder is the same one you’ll find on the Ender 3 S1, and it has proven to be extremely reliable under extended use for our 3D printing business. We have had our S1 for over a year and have not had to perform any repairs on the printer, making this extruder notably more reliable than older Bowden extruders. The direct drive extruder is also a great choice if you are looking to print flexible materials, which are notoriously difficult on Bowden extruders. We highly recommend the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE and feel that it offers excellent value for its price. We currently consider this to be the baseline Creality 3D printer and recommend it over older printers such as the Ender 3 Neo due to its improved feature set. The print temperature is one of the most important settings in Cura. If you choose the wrong temperature here, various printing errors such as stringing, over- or under-extrusion can occur. So, what does the higher price tag land you? Firstly, you get the same cube frame, well-proportioned 220 x 220 x 300 mm build volume and the nippy bed heating of the original Ender 5. From there, the Ender 5 Pro pivots with a V1.15 silent mainboard with TMC2208 drivers for quieter printing compared to the Ender 5. There’s now thermal runaway protection in case things get a little too heated, too. The open material system allows for printing with third-party filaments, while the open-source hardware leaves room for lots of upgrades and mods.

The printer is printing soooo good. It took a few weeks to learn all the tweaks you can do in Cura. Now I am printing models to small and with such level of details that I am happy I did not choose another brand. Many users have been having issues due to odd folder setups on their computers. If you do not follow the below advice the firmware may have issues compiling. Both the Ender 3 V2 and Ender 5 Pro come in DIY, semi-assembled kits and take roughly 20-30 minutes to piece together even for first-timers.

Reinforced Frame - Like the CR-10 Max, the CR-6 Max includes two rods to stabilize the tall Z axis, which prevents wobbling and quality issues on tall prints

The following list includes some of the accessories you should 3D print to improve your printer functionality. The Ender 5 Pro should suit those looking for a standard budget printer with a more vertical build volume to print larger prints. It has enviable upgrades, not least the metal extruder, 32-bit mainboard, and a unique design. You should set the fan speed of the first layer to 0%. If the first few lines of filament are cooled too much, it can warp and become detached from the print bed.Different printers/boards will have different .bin file names but they will all end in the .bin file extension. The biggest sacrifice you’ll make with the Ender 5 Plus versus other large format 3D printers is the build volume. at 350 x 350 x 400 mm, it may not be sufficient for some use cases, but it is still large enough for us to consider it large format. If the size is large enough for your needs, the price point of the Ender 5 Plus is significantly lower than other large format printers. Further, it has many of the nice features of more premium printers, including BLTouch Auto Bed leveling, and a unibody-style controller with touch screen. The pattern for the filling is also important. In Cura you have the choice between different patterns that differ in their stability. I noticed no significant issues in our test prints. A couple of small objects showed some spurious, thin filament "hairs" extending between portions of the prints; this is a common issue with FFF printers, and fortunately these strands are easy enough to clip and sand away.

While the printer is also able to print a single part continuously with no interaction, we have found that the limitations of the 45 degree angle made it so only certain parts with specific geometry were viable to produce. Based on this, we feel that the printer is best suited for applications for very long prints (such as cosplay weapons or long functional parts), which would not be possible at all with other machines. As with most Creality printers, the Ender 3 V2 and Ender 5 Pro are both upgrade-friendly devices with open designs that facilitate modification and add-ons. It’s something the Ender community has embraced, and you’ll find a huge wealth of options out there from 3D printed parts to third-party parts to improve your printer. For a more in-depth comparison of the many Ender 3 models on the market, take a look at our Ender 3 Guide.
