Description

Something about the heroine and how naive she comes across made it really hard for me to root for her in any way. To powieść dla osób lubujących się w motywie podróży, poszukiwania magicznych artefaktów, gdzie wątek miłosny, choć nie na pierwszym planie, jest bardzo znaczący dla całości historii. This book has a prophesy, magic, Fae, Crows, Serpents, someone who sees the future, banter, action, ghosty/phantom hands, and questions left to be answered. Hands down one of my fav books of the year, I don’t know why I’m surprised when I fell in love with her Angels of Elysium series(Feather has my heart). I started out a bit slow, as it took me a little while to wrap my head around the many places, people, and magics, but the layers of mystery and conflict really helped to kick up the pace and I became completely engrossed by the end.

House of Beating Wings (Kingdom of Crows, book 1) by Olivia

The threats are mounting in the Shadow Court, not just for Reyna, but for the mysterious shadow-fae Prince who has kidnapped her. This is a strange one because while there isn't anything I overtly disliked, reading this felt like work. I did not think any book by Olivia could knock out Celestial for the top spot, but we may just have a new winner. Until an oracle predicted my regal future, I’d never imagined myself rising above the curve of my round ears. While Dante appears to show interest in her as well, she is hesitant to get her hopes up due to the forbidden nature of their relationship.Set in a sumptuous Venice-inspired realm detailed by nuanced world-building, Olivia cleverly constructed a solid plot decorated with A Game of Thrones-esque political scheming and vibrant characters.

House of Beating Wings | Olivia Wildenstein

Pearson will devour this epic fantasy romance full of deceit, betrayal, and false loves that could swallow a person whole. It is divided by genres, and includes folders for writing resources, book websit This group is dedicated to connecting readers with Goodreads authors. And then later in the book, when she tried developing a backbone, she bothered me because she felt like a moody and insolent teenager with the way she kept talking back and having sass while still being a big ditz. Speaking of love, I had no idea it was possible to absolutely love a character that isn’t even in the first half of the book. Fallon was a magicless halfling who was given a prophecy, free the crows and they will make you queen. The origins and life he had prior to being enslaved kept me on the edge and I was excited we got to get a chapter from him at the end.

House of Beating Wings? - Shepherd Why read House of Beating Wings? - Shepherd

With her death foretold, Althea Zoltaire only has three years to become what she’s always dreamed of being: a warrior legend. Thanks to House of Beating Wings, The Kingdom of the Crows series has earned a spot on my 'New Series to Watch' list. mark I sighed with relief that she wasn’t being a dumb dumb anymore and started standing her ground. Olivia Wildenstein crafted a beautiful fantasy world that offered an easy escape, one where I forged deep connections to her vibrant characters, delighted in piecing the political puzzle together, and cackled at Fallon's wit and banter. I was lowkey just waiting for the MC to catch up with what I assume most readers had already suspected from the start. As long as you're not hurting/endangering yourself or others I won't be commenting on it because it's none of my business nor anyone else's. Loved Phoebus backstory and I hope I get to see more of his romantic side-plot as well in the second book. Because of their mind connection, he could read all her thoughts, and boy did she have a lot of dumb thoughts. I put the book down for a week after getting a major ick half way through (you’ll know when you get there) and almost didn’t pick it back up.
