Description

Watching your favorite show on television having an outstanding display with rich colors would not be as enjoyable if the audio is poor. It provides Roku’s App Library which has all the popular media streaming applications like Netflix, Youtube, Apple TV, Hulu, etc. The audio quality may not match the exceptional picture quality and may benefit from external speakers or sound systems. Hisense likes to keep you on your toes where smart TV is concerned – some of its models use Android TV, some use Roku TV… the A6G uses the company’s proprietary VIDAA U5 interface. And as far as it goes, VIDAA U5 isn’t bad: it’s clean, logical, easily customised and has an okay selection of catch-up and streaming service apps. But it doesn’t really go far enough, certainly not where the likes of Disney+ and Apple TV are concerned – neither are included here.

Hisense has included Dolby Vision support, and it’s with less capable displays like the A6G’s that the format’s dynamic metadata really shows its benefits. It allows HDR content to be mapped more precisely to the display’s capabilities, and watching exactly the same test material in Dolby Vision reveals HDR images free of any clipping and with saturated but natural-looking colours.

Hisense delivers on specs, but parts of its performance leave a lot to be desired

With good care, a TCL TV can last up to many years, so you needn’t worry about getting another TV anytime soon! TCL Roku TV As an upscaler, too, the Hisense A6G has its limits. It’s able to do pretty decent work with 1080p Full HD content – yes, those impressive detail levels fall away a little, and edges can become slightly restless, but in overall terms the Hisense fills its enormous pixel-count skillfully. But step down from there to some DVD-stored content, say, or – even worse – some daytime TV broadcasts, and the A6G gives up the ghost somewhat. Hi, I'm Sharad Dominic. Welcome to Home Theater Academy, my blog. Building home theater rooms has been my hobby for a long time. Over the years, I have learned a lot about AV equipment and room acoustics. I'm excited to share what I have learned. Hope you find the information useful. There are many TVs, at all sorts of prices, which make us suggest you buy a soundbar. The Hisense A6G is a TV that makes us shout ‘BUY A SOUNDBAR’ at the tops of our voices. It’s fitted with an audio system of two full-range drivers powered by a total of 16 watts - and while Hisense may have been shooting for ‘smooth and inoffensive’ it’s actually ended up with ‘bland and uninvolving’.

The included remote control for the Hisense 55A6BGTUK is straightforward and user-friendly. It features a minimalistic design with intuitive buttons for easy navigation. The remote also has dedicated hotkeys for popular streaming services, allowing you to launch them directly. Additionally, the TV is compatible with voice control, enabling you to control functions and search for content using voice commands. Connectivity Options It does not share attractive features like Hisense Android TV, for instance, Google Voice Assistant, Google Play Music, and Google Games. For some time now, Hisense has been doing great work to deliver TVs with up-to-the-minute specs at prices the big mainstream brands wouldn’t dare countenance. And its extensive new A6G range (of which we’re looking at the 55in model) is its latest attempt to do just that. So far, so good. But, inevitably, there’s a price to be paid for all the pennies saved. For a start, the 55A6G isn’t a wide colour gamut panel, which means it won’t get the best from a 4K disc library. There’s also no local dimming, and the nearest you’ll get to Deep Learning is trying to memorise the menu.

Connected smarts can be considered rather good. The A6G uses the latest version of Hisense’s own Vidaa smart platform, which is primarily designed to host streaming services. A quad-core processor keeps navigation reasonably responsive. Like pretty much every other 4K TV, the Hisense 55A6G looks its best when given some 4K content to work with – and, in this instance, we needn’t worry unduly about the flavour of HDR with which it comes. So, with a Netflix stream of the Dolby Vision-assisted The Trial of the Chicago Seven incoming, the A6G ought to be able to give its best shot. Roku App Library has many media streaming apps but Google Play Store allows access to a much greater variety of apps than Roku. It is constantly updated to include any new apps introduced. Clearly, Hisense Android TV has an advantage here. The Hisense A6G is a 4K HDR smart LED TV that comes in screen sizes ranging from 43in to 75in. Hisense appears to be choosing different panels for different screen sizes, with the 50-inch model reviewed here using a VA panel.

The Hisense 55A6BGTUK does not feature QLED ( Quantum Dot LED) technology. QLED displays use quantum dot nanocrystals to enhance color reproduction and brightness. They offer vibrant, accurate colors, high brightness levels, and improved viewing angles. While the Hisense 55A6BGTUK may not have QLED technology, it still provides impressive picture quality with its 4K UHD resolution and HDR support. Ambient Mode Obvious competitors where this screen-size/specification/price combination is concerned are few – certainly none of the ‘big five’ manufacturers can lay a glove on this sort of price-to-size ratio. The few brands with any credibility involved in this fight include JVC, TCL and Toshiba – and even then, you’ll struggle to do better on price. Design WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU, WHETHER IN CONTRACT OR TORT OR OTHERWISE, FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFIT, REVENUE, INTEREST, BUSINESS OR CORRUPTION OF DATA, ATTORNEY FEES, EXPENSES, OR ANY OTHER LOSS OR DAMAGES, INCLUDING PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH, ANY SMART SERVICES CONTAINED IN, OR AS A RESULT OF THE USE, OF THE DEVICE, OR ANY SMART SERVICES ACCESSED OR USED BY YOU, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGES. While the Hisense 55A6BGTUK offers decent sound quality, it may need to match the performance of dedicated sound systems. The built-in speakers produce clear audio, but for a more immersive experience, connecting external speakers or a soundbar is recommended. The TV supports various audio formats and offers customization options to adjust the sound. Remote Control However, all TCL models use 16 Watt speakers (in their cheap plus premium models) while Hisense adopts more powerful and higher quality speakers that produce a more detailed sound. This can be a dominant factor for gamers who like to hear more intricate sounds like those of footsteps etc.

Well, up to a point. There are definite positives to the native 4K pictures the A6G is capable of delivering, and it’s not the worst upscaler of Full HD content you ever saw either. It’s even decently rapid as a gaming monitor. The A6G offers plenty of curb appeal for the cash. It’s neatly turned out, with Dolby Vision HDR on hand to make the most of apps on the brand’s useful Vidaa 5.0 streaming platform. A quad core processor helps keep navigation sprightly, and there’s a choice of either Google or Alexa smart assistant compatibility for voice control and search. The Hisense A6G is an entry-level 4K HDR LED TV that’s nicely designed, well made, and very competitively priced. Two full-range drivers powered by a total of 16 watts isn’t the most promising recipe, and sure enough there isn’t much satisfaction to be had in the way the A6G sounds.
