About this deal

It provides 300 Watts continuous DC to AC power and 700 Watts instantaneous power and has 2 smart USB ports and 2 AC outlets that can meet your basic charging requirement. Modified sine wave inverters can be applied to mobile phones, notebook computers, televisions, video cameras, CD players, various chargers, car refrigerators, game consoles, DVD players, and power tools. You see the power inverter bit means taking a car power socket and turning it into a real plug, like at home. I would be worried about fuse and melting wiring and so would prefer it hard wired to the battery bank with a dedicated switch and fuse.

But this way will lead to many problems including a complicated control circuit, more power switch tubes used for the superimposed lines, and larger volume and weight of the inverter.

Dual 110V AC outlets deliver 300W continuous power to your electric appliances under 300W like laptop, TV, game console, DVD/Blu-Ray player, and 2 USB ports can charge mobile devices like cellphones, cameras, etc. Can I throw a cautionary tale in the mix - just recently my Unc had a problem with running his 750W microwave using a 1500/3000Watt max inverter after he had changed his leisure batteries from 1 large coach style to 2 medium 110A types and fitted a second solar panel for extra charging. This inverter will supply stable power to run small electronic tools, air conditioner, microwave, laser printer, air pumps, electronic doors, small motors and refrigerators that a modified sine wave inverter can not.

The circuit had been designed to use 3x 30amp spade fuses on both the negative and positive supply feeds (6 in total). Reduces audible and electrical noise in fans, fluorescent lights, audio amplifiers, TV, game consoles, fax and answering machines. The conventional modified sine wave inverter is generated by the stepwise superposition of the wave voltage of square sine wave. From the perspective of mainstream inverters, car inverters are mainly divided into two types, pure sine wave inverters, and modified sine wave inverters. At present, the modified wave inverter has been widely used in user systems in remote areas, because these user systems are not very demanding on the quality of power consumption, and the modified inverter is suitable for carrying electrical resistance.

And if you had a big inverter supplying a smallish load, the inefficiency is greater as there is a minimum amount of overhead - so if you had say a 2000W inverter for arguments sake and you turned it on to provide a low wattage, it would be more wasteful than using a 300W inverter for the same purpose. Built-in 40 amps fuse and full protection against overheating, under and over voltage charging, short circuiting, overloads, and overcharging. It’s not ugly or anything and that red is useful as you can spot it easily in a dark foot well but….It’s the sort of thing you may note need every day or every week but need it once and I’d say you’ve gotten your 20 odd quid’s worth out of it. Well this is a little bit of a departure for me, I don’t normally do car things but this, this a bit different too. I was using my Laptop in the motorhome last couple of days and it was drawing just 24W, supplied by my 1300W inverter, but the fact I can just take my normal 'house' charger with me and plug in it compensates for the wasted power IFAIAC. Sure, the USB sockets are a nice addition but you can get a million USB car charger but a laptop one I have never seen before.

We are in a “mobile” era where there are full of mobile offices, mobile communication, mobile leisure, mobile entertainment, etc.Just need something small for running a 70w power brick on a laptop a couple hours a day and a two 14w LED bulbs a few hours at night. Interestingly I plugged my laptop into the load socket on my mppt controller today using its dedicated 12V charger just the see what it draws and it was between 18-20 watts while already fully charged and watching Iplayer. Tested with charged battery alone, and tested with solar panel connected to battery to inverter to laptop and household bedside lamp.
