About this deal

Tahereh Mafi is a wonderful writer though, and the worlds and stories she creates are so well done. The Persian myth that was threaded into This Woven Kingdom was also beautiful, and it was really cool seeing that play out in the book. Okay let hear my story. lol I began my adventure at Ardunia. Here I met the crown prince of the empire 'Prince Kamran' who is instantly interested in my jinn friend Alizeh just a few times they met! This fast, mannn!! Even though she's just a servent!! 😲 I don't know why? It surely seems an almost insurmountable task given that this book presents its readers with all those things you have already read time and time again:

Kamran's position in this book, as the nice prince is also quite great. I loved his perspectives and his role in this entire story.

Kamran has a lot of potential (dark, broody prince, hell yeah), but he didn’t have enough depth to entirely convince me either. He felt a bit like a toned down version of Nasir in We Hunt the Flame. As a small thing, he was a character that I sometimes struggled with, as he is relatively immature but with enough power that it can be dangerous. He does begin to grow and learn during the story, so I think he will continue to mature in future books. These Infinite Threads” delves deeper into the richly imagined world of Jinn and humans, examining the complexities of their coexistence as well as the consequences of their fates being intertwined. As Alizeh’s journey progresses, she meets a diverse cast of characters, each with their own motivations and desires, who become essential to her search for truth and freedom. There's also too much character exposition. Readers are capable of analyzing a character's personality without being constantly told character traits. I think this book would've been more enjoyable if Mafi showed us instead of telling us.

Overall, I’m interested in seeing where this trilogy will go and whether Alizeh and Kamran’s relationship will survive the journey. The ending of this first book has provided a nice setup for the series to show us what is happening. I won't hold a grudge with this first book. I would definitely be looking for next book in the series, specially that it nods to more story telling and the cliffhanger that happened at the end. First of all, I want to admit that my expectations were high. I am a little disappointed. The story is more focused on politics than romance. I would love it when there was more romance but the politics were still ok.

I might accept an explanation of idealism more readily were your actions symptomatic of a larger philosophical position, which we both know they are not, as you've never before taken an active interest in the lives of street children - or servants, for that matter.” Alizeh must conceal her true identity and deal with the difficulties of living in public while carrying the burden of her hidden heritage. As the story progresses, Alizeh and Kamran’s paths cross, triggering a chain of events that will uproot their kingdom and the world as they know it. Although there are several characters in this book series, Alizeh and Kamran are the central characters, each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. Alizeh
